What is MtnDAO?
For those who don't know yet: MtnDAO is the must-attend gathering in the Solana ecosystem. A full month (February 1–28) of intense coworking, hacking, and skiing, bringing together the most ambitious builders in the space.
We're talking a dedicated setup with 130 workstations, 20 GB wifi, a livestream studio, and most importantly, a concentration of talent you won't find anywhere else. This is the 9th edition and the 5th year running, and each iteration keeps getting bigger.
The Proof of Tech team is on-site for the entire month.
Our mission: cover the event from the inside. Project interviews, technical breakdowns of the teams building there, and a firsthand look at what's shipping right now in the Solana ecosystem.

Project Spotlight: WeSplit - Splitwise for Stablecoins
Speaking of building... We're using this newsletter to introduce a project that's actively building on Solana and worth keeping on your radar.
The Problem
You know the scene: you're on a trip with friends, sharing a flat, or at an event with your team. Everyone fronts expenses. At the end, it's chaos figuring out who owes what to whom. Apps like Splitwise exist, but they're 100% off-chain, slow, and have zero crypto rails.
On the other side, Web3 wallets are single-player tools, no social layer, no group management.
The Solution: WeSplit
WeSplit is the missing link: programmable, interest-bearing joint accounts for groups, built on Solana using stablecoin infrastructure.
Here's how it works:
Create a group (trip, flat, event...)
Everyone pools funds in stablecoins
Expenses are split and settled instantly on-chain
Unspent pooled capital automatically generates yield for the group (coming soon)
Why It Matters
The idea was born directly inside the Solana ecosystem, at a Colosseum Hacker House. The founders were living with 10+ teams, building on Solana... but using Lydia and Splitwise to share daily expenses. The gap was obvious.
WeSplit turns shared payments into a daily social habit, instant settlement, gamified experience, and zero off-ramp friction.
